According to Bharatiyata, the objective of education is never merely individualistic. The true Bharatiya purpose of education is the creation of competent, dedicated citizens who are prepared to organize society for nation-building that ultimately leads to global welfare (Vishwa Kalyan). Simply creating capable individuals does not automatically build a nation. Just as bricks of the right size cannot form a strong wall without strong cement to bind them, individual development alone is insufficient; social organization is an indispensable organ of nation-building.

The evolution of a decentralized, self-reliant, society-centric, and autonomous education system has eternally been the bedrock of Bharatiya education policy. The closer to the grassroots the policy is determined, the more practical and effective it becomes. The education policy must be flexible enough to allow decision-making at the district level. It should strongly emphasize making education self-reliant. Along with physical resources, educational materials and trained teachers should be available from the immediate vicinity. This is achievable only through proper societal participation.

Keeping in mind universal, inclusive, and accessible education, the policy must ensure that education for complete holistic development—tailored to each individual's aptitude according to the Bharatiya vision—is available to all. Autonomy is also a core element. Freedom from government control is the first step of autonomy. The true transfer of education policy from state control to society begins with the establishment of an Education Commission appointed by a fully autonomous society. Genuine autonomy will manifest when students have the freedom to choose their subjects, mentors, and mediums of instruction. Institutional leaders must grant teachers complete teaching freedom. When institutions achieve total autonomy from universities and boards, and universities and boards from the government, only then will the education that liberates everyone be truly liberated itself. Such a policy will be the true Bharatiya Education Policy.

The foundational work done previously on this subject must be advanced with continuity. The Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal has presented a comprehensive framework for national education. A nationwide discourse needs to be ignited. Necessary changes in policies must be brought about through constant contact, dialogue, and positive suggestions with policymakers.

The draft of the National Education Policy published in 2020 includes recommendations for the establishment of a National Education Commission and the implementation of autonomy down to the institutional level. Their effective implementation and follow-up are possible only through societal awakening and ideological pressure on the administration. This is the sacred duty of the Shikshan Mandal.

From primary education to higher education, the foundation of all curricula must be Bharatiya thought. The Bharatiya knowledge tradition must be integrated into every subject. It is imperative to incorporate the advanced reality of pre-British Bharat across all fields into our education. Even modern subjects must be taught keeping the supreme national interest of Bharat at the center.

Integrating Bharatiyata into curricula requires a dual effort. Firstly, rigorous research into the Bharatiya knowledge tradition must be conducted for every subject, producing authentic Bharatiya content through systematic study. Secondly, supplementary courses based on existing knowledge must be developed. It is the continuous endeavor of the Mandal to brainstorm what can be added to the syllabus of every subject in every class to nurture the Bharatiya perspective of life and awaken a profound sense of national pride (Rashtra Gaurav) in the minds of the students.

Even before policies and curricula are completely overhauled, Bharatiyata can be practiced in the methodology of education. The educational environment should exude a Bharatiya ethos. To create this atmosphere, the school surroundings, as well as the attire of both students and teachers, should reflect our civilizational roots. The pedagogy itself must incorporate the concept of Bharatiyata. Deep affinity (Aatmiyata) in the relationship and behavior with students is the essence of Bharatiyata.

The basis of evaluation should not be mere memorization; rather, continuous assessment of holistic knowledge is the true Bharatiya method. Even in an examination-centric system, Bharatiyata can be inspired through informal evaluation. For all this, teachers must be deeply prepared. Their capacity building is the most crucial task. Simply awakening teachers to the Bharatiya vision of life will bring about a fundamental transformation in their teaching methodologies. This is not about imposing external techniques; it is a profound inner transformation of thought.

Merely imparting information will not suffice. This becomes possible only when the teacher's perspective towards the students changes. Let us take a small example. It is a common notion among teachers that in every class, some students are intelligent and others are weak; however, from the authentic classical Bharatiya perspective, every student is inherently unique. If a teacher awakens the capacity to see this, they will realize that every student in their class is brilliant—some in academics, some in sports, some in art, and some in innovation. The mindset to nurture the special, hidden qualities within each child will completely revolutionize the teacher's approach. Similarly, experiments must be conducted to awaken the teacher's self-confidence and their profound faith in the authenticity and innate goodness of the students.
